DescriptionUnder the direction of the Vice President of Entertainment, the Senior Manager of Resort Entertainment is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction within the Entertainment division. The focus of this position will be the entertainment experience provided for the casino bars, lounges and restaurants. The incumbent should be a highly motivated and creative self-starter with the ability to create and deliver first-class entertainment ensuring guests’ enjoyment.Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Leads strategically with comprehensive responsibilities to work with teams to ensure successful implementation of an Entertainment division strategic plan for the casino.2. Creates first-class entertainment features to ensure Yaamava’ fulfillment and guest enjoyment. Ensures a positive casino experience by providing guests with outstanding service and developing programs to increase revenue streams to Yaamava’.3. Manages relationships with vendors and suppliers including talent agencies, sound and video suppliers, prop manufacturers, etc.4. Works and collaborates in conjunction with Yaamava’ partnerships to develop and contract with entertainment acts to satisfy both partner and organization goals. Entertainment acts include DJ’s, specialty bands, musicians, headliners, celebrity entertainers, etc. for the Yaamava’ Resort casino venues.5. Responds to events or circumstances requiring high-level management attention and informs Vice President of Entertainment of situations that require his/her attention. Resolves problems, questions, or concerns from entertainment vendors, performers and guests.6. Oversees the departmental budget and accurately tracks/adheres to budget goals. Delivers projects within or below established budgets.7. Partners with technical teams to develop and maintain a safe working environment. Adheres to safety and loss control regulations to main safety procedures for staff, vendors and performers.8. Stays abreast of the current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicates pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports and team members as appropriate.9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.RequirementsEducation/Experience/QualificationsnBachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field required.nMinimum of eight (8) years of in-depth experience with proven ability to create live show production under pressure; preference for high-volume casino, resort or entertainment environment preferred.nMinimum of six (6) years in a supervisory role, directing and coaching others.nEquivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.nProven ability to innovate, utilize cutting edge technology and lead team in the development of premier entertainment.nPrevious experience with a wide variety of modern production equipment and structures, including fabrication.nPrevious experience with lighting and audio visual equipment used for headline entertainment.nMust possess keen leadership abilities, as well as organizational and strategic agility.nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.nAnalytical in his or her approach to problem solving with an emphasis on managing within a team environment which is focused on results.nMust be comfortable preparing and conducting formal presentations to executives/ stakeholders/ team members.nExtensive experience in using complex analytical support to make decisions is essential.nThe ability to provide world class customer service which consistently exceeds guests expectations is a must.nHigh level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.nCertificates/Licenses/RegistrationsnAt the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.nA qualified candidate/employee must have a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the companys insurance carrier.nYaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel will make reasonable accommodations in compliance with applicable law.
